Retiree information

The February 20th meeting has been cancelled. The March 20th meeting will be a pot luck at the ETC at noon in room 216. This meeting will be nominations of officers.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and we wish all a prosperous New Year for 2018. We are looking forward to our new meeting hall being finished and getting back to, somewhat, normal.

Our November 21st " Pizza Party " was great but we were missing some regular attendees. We had good pizza, subs, and salad and everyone had a good time.

The December "Christmas Luncheon" was very successful in that we had City BBQ cater the affair and everyone was pleased with the food and service. It was good to have some Local 683 officers and NECA  director Brian Damante  and his wife, Ginny, join us for lunch. Our Business Manager, Ed Moore, gave us an update on the new meeting hall and that work looks good for 2018.

Our next retirees regular meetings will be at 12 noon on January 16th, February 20th, and March 20th at the ETC, Rm 216, second floor, WEATHER PERMITTING, potluck, drinks provided. Any changes will be posted on the local's web site, sent by e-mail or telephone. If you need to call, here are numbers to call, Chuck Thompson: 614-535-8052, Bob Garish: 614-560-5947, Sharron Liston: 614-581-7721   We also let Clare and Bobbi in the local's office know of any changes.

At the March 20th meeting, weather permitting, we will have nominations for officers for the Local 683 Retirees Club. If you are interested in serving as an officer,  please  have your yearly  dues paid up and be at this meeting. You may also be nominated in writing and accept in writing as long as a current officer receives  it by March 20th at 12 noon. The officers of the club serve a 2 year term and will be voted on at the April 17th regular retirees meeting. We need more retired members to get involved to keep the club functional with new ideas and events for our retirees. The club can only function if the members function. There are 6 officer positions available for election, can you as a retiree fill (1). If you need more information,  please contact Chuck Thompson or Bob Garish.

The April 17th meeting will also be our "spring pizza party". We need a head count if you plan on attending. A reminder will be in the April newsletter.

The winners of the 50/50 drawing in October, November, and at the Christmas Luncheon donated their winnings back to the club for "Touching Little Lives Fund" and,"Veterans Kids Bicycle

Fund". Thank you for you generosity!!

The Local 683 Retirees Club would like to express their appreciation to the officers and staff of Local 683, the Officers and staff of the ETC, the officers and staff of our NECA chapter, our members, and apprentices for their help this past year during our "limbo" period. Thanks, again!

Due to the great generosity of our local working members, officers, NECA, and retired  members,  we were able to donate (40) new bicycles to the veterans kids at RAFB at their December Christmas event (see pies).  We witnessed  a lot of happy kids at this event and  the veterans were awed by our donations and send their great appreciation to all who helped make a joyous occasion for the kids.

Thanks to ALL!!

We donate bicycles all year long, so it is never too late to donate a new bike or funds toward a bike.....When arguing with a stupid person, be sure he isn"t doing the same thing!.... Anonymous
